Getting Involved

As a community of faith we meet on Sundays and are a big team of volunteers. We are always looking for people to help with different aspects of our worship. That might be reading scripture, playing music, flower arranging, or joining in with preaching and leading. If you have concerns about the community around us, have ideas you would like to try out with church, or would simply like to find out more about how you could get involved, please email revd.allright@gmail.com

We also have lots happening during the week. If you would like to get to know people and join in, there are lots of ways to either volunteer or simply come along.

Sunday - to find out about our Sunday services, please visit our Services page.

Monday - we have a chair exercise group at St Mary’s Hall, led by Linda and Cathie from Brantingham Church.

Tuesday - we have a busy Bumps and Babies group at All Saints Brough from 10.30am, for expectant mothers and those caring for babies and toddlers. Volunteers help with refreshments, setting and tidying up, and welcoming families. To find out more about attending the group with your little ones, or volunteering, you can email revd.allright@gmail.com

Wednesday - we run a monthly bereavement cafe on the last Wednesday of each month at St Mary’s Hall. Volunteers provide refreshments and we chat together about our experiences of loss. The group is informal and free to attend for anyone with a recent bereavement or interest in supporting people at this stage of life. Please come along, or get in touch to find out more: revd.allright@gmail.com

Thursday - we have a 10am Holy Communion Service at All Saints’ Brough, and welcome people to call in for a coffee afterwards from 10.30am. From time to time we also offer a fundraising coffee morning for local charities too.

Friday - we have a lively playgroup at St Mary’s Hall called Tiny Footsteps which is run by volunteers. If you would be interested in taking your pre-schoolers, or helping with refreshments or setting up for the group, please email tinyfootstepsplaygroup@gmail.com

Saturday - Developing faith is often more fun with other people and we have house groups who meet to discuss different topics. There is also a Men’s Breakfast who meet on the occasional Saturday mornings to look at bible study together - the venue changes each time so please email revd.allright@gmail.com to check where it will be.

Governance

Our churches are run by committees who meet quarterly to arrange local events, and keep up with the maintenance of our historic buildings. The committees are often looking for support with different projects and fundraising or publicity.

We also have a Joint Parochial Church Council (JPCC) which oversees the work of the churches. To join the JPCC you need to be a part of our Sunday worship but we are actively looking for new leaders to help run our churches.

If either of these is something you would be interested in, please get in touch with Revd Becky: revd.allright@gmail.com
